Sheldon 11” Tool Room Precision Lathe
TS-44 E model
- T - Indicated a taper attachment or tapered roller spindle bearings
- S - Later 11” swing (clearance measures at an actual 11-1/4” over the bed and carriage wings), “short” #5MT spindle taper; 2-1/4” x 8 TPI spindle thread
- 44 - Bed length in inches
- E - 4 speed under drive with 4 step pulleys (or possibly 8 speeds if the primary pulley has two steps instead of 1.
Sheldon “E” Type Underneath Motor Drive
- Double countershaft permits operation through standard 1-piece lathe bed
- Double V-belts to spindle prevent slippage and delivers full power
- 4 step cones give wide speed range
- Lever release for belt shifting
- Adjustable take-up for all belts
- Motor - 1 HP (need to confirm)
